We human being are a part of nature.
When we observe wild birds and nature, we always respect birds and their environment.
The interests of birds should come first.
The Code of Bird Watching
- To watch birds calmly
Avoid speaking loudly and moving quickly. Those would frighten wild birds
and disturb their singing.
Avoid going too close to birds.
- Be particularly cautions in nesting season
In nesting season, the parent birds are very sensitive. When they feel
stress or danger, they may abandon their nest.
If we go too close to their active nests and feeding sites, the parent
birds avoid coming close to nest, the eggs or nestlings will result in
death. Leave from that place quickly.
- To watch a rare bird or strayer from far very carefully
A rare bird or strayer may loss their migratory flight path, they will
be tired and hungry. Not to disturb their feeding and rest.
- Do not disturb local residents during bird watching
Local residents who do not know the bird watching may feel a trouble in
the case many strangers will come near a house or their field. Stay on
roads and paths. Respect the wishes of local residents and landowners.
Never point your binoculars or field scope at local residents or their
house. It is usually prohibited to take edible wild plants or mushrooms
without permission.
- Be careful for reporting bird observation
Especially we need extreme care about the information of a rare bird
or an active nest.
It is better to avoid sharing the information which specify the place.
If many people come to the place to observe rare birds, it would threaten
or endanger the birds and local residents too.
No smoking during a Birdwatch field trip
Please keep nonsmoking during a Birdwatch field trip.
There are people who are not good at smoking cigarettes. We will hold
our Birdwatch field trips at a riverbed or country side forest, so we have
to prevent a fire by smoking.
The Code of taking photographs
- Respect the interest of birds, they are not just an object of camera.
- Avoid playing a recording of birdsong or feeding for a purpose of photographing.
- Never use the flush lamp of camera
- Do not change the environment
Avoid cutting tree or putting a stake in the ground for a purpose of photographing
- Be careful causing damage to plant or wooden footpath by tripod or others.
These are not absolute or everything. We always respect birds and their
environment.
We all are living creatures on Earth.
